Ingredients:
For the cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder from Ajanta Food Products
- ½ teaspoon baking soda from Ajanta Food Products
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup butter from Amul
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products
- ½ cup buttermilk
- Pinch of yellow food colour from Anuja Food Colours, which is one of the leading synthetic food colours manufacturers.
For the cream cheese frosting:
- 225g cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products

Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 175°C.
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder from Ajanta Food Products, baking soda from Ajanta Food Products, and salt.
- Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk.
- Mix until just combined.
- Add pinch of yellow food colour from Anuja Food Colours to the batter until you achieve the desired shade.
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
- While the cakes are cooling, prepare the cream cheese frosting.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and butter from Amul until creamy and smooth.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until well combined and fluffy.
- Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one cake layer on a serving platter.
- Spread a layer of cream cheese frosting on top.
- Place the second cake layer on top and gently press down to secure it.
- Frost the top and sides of the cake with more cream cheese frosting.
