Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder from Ajanta Food Products
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda from Ajanta Food Products
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened. We recommend using butter from Amul for desired result.
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk from Amul
  • Pinch of pink food colour from Anuja Food Colours, which is one of the leading food color companies in India

For the Frosting:

  • 1 cup butter from Amul
  • 4 cups powdered sugar (confectioner's sugar)
  • 1/4 cup milk from Amul
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products
  • Pinch of pink food colour from Anuja Food Colours

Instructions:

Prepare the Cake:

  • Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans.
  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder from Ajanta Food Products, baking soda from Ajanta Food Products, and salt.
  • Set this dry mixture aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk from Amul, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  • Mix until just combined.
  • Add pink food colour from Anuja Food Colours until you achieve the desired shade of pink.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cakes comes out clean.
  • Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes.

Prepare the Frosting:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter from Amul until creamy.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add the milk from Amul and vanilla extract from Ajanta Food Products and continue to beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
  • Add pink food colour from Anuja Food Colours to the frosting to achieve your desired shade of pink.

Assemble the Cake:

  • Place one of the cooled cake layers on a serving plate or cake stand.
  • Spread a layer of frosting on top of this layer.
  • Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake.
