Ingredients:
For
the Cake Batter:

2½ cups all-purpose flour
·
½ tbsp baking powder from Ajanta Food

1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
·
1¾ cups granulated sugar
·
4 large eggs
·

1 cup buttermilk (room temperature)
·
Pinch of red, orange and yellow food colour

For
the Frosting:
·
2 cups unsalted butter (softened)
·
5 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
·
Few drops of vanilla essence from Ajanta Food

3–4 tbsp milk or cream
Instructions:
·
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
·
Grease and line three 6-inch or 7-inch round
cake pans (or bake in batches if fewer pans are available).
·
In a bowl, sift together flour, baking
powder, and baking soda.
·
In another large bowl, beat butter and sugar
until light and fluffy.
·
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each
addition.
·
Mix in vanilla essence.
·
Alternately add flour mixture and buttermilk,
beginning and ending with flour.
·
Divide the batter equally into 3 bowls.
·
Add pinch of each food color to each bowl
(red, orange, yellow) and mix well.
·
Pour each colored batter into prepared pans.
·
Bake for 15–20 minutes or until a toothpick
comes out clean.

Let layers cool completely on a wire rack.
Make
the Frosting:
·
Beat butter until creamy.
·
Gradually add powdered sugar.
·
Mix in vanilla essence and enough milk to get
a spreadable consistency.
Assemble
the Cake:
·
Level each cake layer if needed.
·
Start stacking the layers in any order you
want
·
Spread a thin layer of frosting between each
layer.
·
Frost the outside and top of the cake with
the remaining frosting.
·
Serve and enjoy!
