Banana Cake Recipe with Step By Step Instructions

For the Cake

·       2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

·       ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened

·       ¾ cup (150 g) granulated sugar

·       2 large eggs

·       2 ripe bananas, mashed

·       ½ cup (120 ml) milk

·       200 g cream cheese, softened

·       ½ cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened

·       2½ cups powdered sugar

Instructions

·       Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line an 8-inch round cake tin.

·       Sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.

·       Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

·       Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

·       Mix in few drops of vanilla essence and mashed bananas.

·       Add the yellow food colour to the milk and stir well.

·       Add the flour mixture and coloured milk alternately to the batter, beginning and ending with the flour. Mix just until combined.

·       Pour the batter into the prepared cake tin and level the top.

·       Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the centre comes out clean.

·       Cool the cake in the tin for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Cream Cheese Frosting

·       Beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth.

·       Gradually add the powdered sugar and few drops of vanilla essence.

·       Beat until light and creamy.

·       Spread or pipe over the cooled banana cake.

·       Serve and enjoy!
